Yes you may access the Blinn wireless network in the library. A wireless network is available for use by Blinn College students and employees. The network operates on the standard Wi-fi 802.11b/g protocol and frequencies. There are 802.11n access points in a few high use buildings.
Specific instructions on how to configure your computer or smartphone to automatically log on to the network can be found here
Students should select the BlinnStudent network from their wireless setup
Faculty and staff should select BlinnStaff network from their wireless setup
Next, open an Internet browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari ...) and it will be redirected to a logon page.
Students use your student IDas the username and Date of Birth in the format yyyymmdd as the password
Employees use their Blinn domainusername and password (what you log onto the computer with)
The following buildings are hotspots with wireless access:
Bryan- Academic, Library, Science, Student Center, Health, Bookstore, CPC, Administration
Brenham- Academic, Administration, Bullock, Classroom, Old Main, PE Building, Library, O'Donnell Performing Arts Center, Student Center, Band Hall, Schmidt
Brenham Residence- all the dorms and apartments have 802.11n wireless access points.
Schulenburg- Administration, Liberal Arts
Sealy- main building
